Your data, your way

Neném Rotina was built to log your baby's routine with as little friction as possible — and that includes how we handle data. By default, everything stays on your device. What's optional is truly optional. This page explains exactly what happens with each piece of information.

What stays only on your device

Feedings, sleep, diapers, pumping, growth, health, occurrences, baths, and activities — every entry you make in Neném Rotina is saved first to your phone's local storage. You don't need internet or an account to use the app day to day, and this data never leaves your device unless you turn on sync (next section).

When is this data deleted?
Automatically when you uninstall the app. Your Android system takes care of it — you don't need to do anything extra.

Your cloud account: how it works and how to delete

If you want to access your records on more than one device, you can create an account with Google Sign-In or email/password. In that case, your routine data also syncs to Cloud Firestore (Google/Firebase database). Without signing in, none of this happens — the app runs 100% offline by default.

What is stored in the cloud

  • ✓ Feeding, sleep, diaper, pumping, growth, health, activity records
  • ✓ Your settings (language, units, category order)
  • ✓ Your account profile (name/photo if provided)

What is NOT stored in the cloud

  • ✗ Baby's name (if added, stays on device only)
  • ✗ Private notes and text in records

How long your data is kept

  • While your account is active: indefinitely (as long as you want to use the app)
  • Local data (on device): while the app is installed. When uninstalled, all local records are automatically deleted
  • Cloud data (Firestore): see next section on how to delete

How to delete your account and all cloud data

You can delete your account directly from the app in "My Account" → "Delete My Account", or by requesting via email if you prefer. See the step-by-step here.

  • Account: deleted within 24 hours
  • Data in Firestore: deleted with the account, no backup
  • Local data: stays on device until you uninstall the app
  • It's irreversible: no way to recover data after 24h

Where your data lives and who has access

Local data (on your device)

  • Where: your Android storage (doesn't sync to cloud without sign-in)
  • Who has access: only you (other apps need permission)
  • How to delete: uninstall the app or go to Settings > Apps > Neném Rotina > Storage > Clear data

Synced data (Google/Firebase)

  • Where: Google Cloud servers (region us-central1, USA)
  • Who has access: you (via sign-in) + Google/Firebase (under security contract)
  • Does NOT have access: third parties, marketing agencies, ad companies

Analytics data (Firebase Analytics)

  • Where: Google Analytics servers
  • What we track: which screen you open, if you use statistics, time in app
  • What we DON'T track: baby's name, feeding data, your personal info
  • Retention: 14 months (Google Analytics 4 default)
  • Who can see: you (restricted dashboard) + Neném Rotina team (aggregate numbers only)

Ad data (Google AdMob)

  • What is collected: your Advertising ID (provided by Android)
  • For what: to serve ads and measure impressions
  • Who can see: Google and ad agencies (Google doesn't share your ID)
  • How to control: Settings > Google > Manage your Google Account > Data and privacy > Ad settings

Understanding Neném Rotina usage (analytics)

We use Firebase Analytics (Google Analytics 4) to understand, in aggregate, which screens and features are used most and where the app can improve — for example, how many people use the statistics screen or whether a flow is confusing. These events don't include your baby's data (name, feedings, sleep, weight, etc.) or any other personally identifiable information (PII): it's product usage, not your family's content.

▸ Examples of what we collect
  • How many people open the statistics screen daily
  • If a new user flow is confusing (clicks outside main button)
  • Which record category gets the most questions
▸ What we absolutely do NOT collect
  • Baby's data (name, weight, height, feedings, sleep)
  • Your personal information (ID, location)
  • Content of notes you write in records

Ads — how they work and how to control them

Neném Rotina is free because it shows ad banners via Google AdMob. We want to be honest about how this works.

What is the Advertising ID

It's a number your Android generates automatically for ad purposes — you already have one, whether using Neném Rotina or not. It's like an "ad CPF" that you can reset anytime.

What Neném Rotina does with ads

  • We don't choose which ads appear — Google AdMob does
  • We don't receive your personal info via AdMob
  • We see only aggregate numbers (ex: "1000 impressions today")

How to control or reset your Advertising ID

Android:
1. Settings > Google > Manage your Google Account
2. "Data and privacy" > "Ad settings"
3. Here you can reset your ID or limit tracking

Common questions

▸ If I delete my account, do you keep a backup?

It's truly deleted, no backup. Firebase doesn't keep a copy to recover from. If you change your mind, there's no way back — that's why we warn you when deleting.

▸ Do you sell my data to other companies?

We never sell anyone's data. Data you sync stays only on Google's Firebase — we don't share it with marketing companies or any third party.

▸ What if my phone gets stolen?

Local data is encrypted by Android (if you have a screen lock). Cloud data: the person would need your Google/email password to access your account.
